Today The Insides dropped some not so happy news that after years of playing together, they are parting ways as a band. I first heard of this talented Philly trio back in 2020 from following Nik Bruzzese and exploring all the music he was helping create. The first song I took for a spin was Big Light. It was raw, full of emotion, told a story and honestly it was just catchy as hell.
They dropped an EP back in 2020 called Nightmare and the four song masterpiece had me hooked. You really hear how versatile this band is with these four songs and their unique sound is something to be admired. This year they gave us an even bigger light, their first LP Curse At The Sun, Cry Over Rain. In a way, it is a great parting gift, but also makes you a bit melancholy as this record is one for the books.
I had the honor of writing about this band last year. It was my 4th article and I’m so glad they let me shine some light on their brilliant tunes.
Any time a band that you are incredibly fond of decides to part ways or stops making music, it’s definitely a heartbreaking feeling. There’s no doubt we will be cursing and crying over this news, but I hope this band knows how much the music they created is appreciated and loved. Good luck to them on their future endeavors and who knows, maybe someday they will let us back inside.
